Eranan Thirumagan is an avid Composer, entrenched in the musical world from a young age.

Starting at just seven years old, Eranan began his journey in primary school with the Violin, adding the Piano to his instrument pool a few years later. He has performed with a range of orchestras from his local county of West Glamorgan to touring with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales.

His journey took him to study a music degree with a focus on composition. Here he was met with a number of difficulties that he would not be able until many years later. Initially at Cardiff University before taking a year out towards the end of his final year. He then attended Leeds College of Music before graduating into the global pandemic.

After several ups and downs over the years Eranan was diagnosed with ADHD. This revelation gave the clarity that he needed to begin understanding and navigating his past difficulties.

Since then Eranan has reformed his motivations and is spiritedly carving out his career as a composer and orchestrator.

Eranan's compositional practice involves a duality of interests, writing for both media and concert performance.

Working primarily in music for media. These scores aim to match a range of requirements depending on the form of the project. From scores that support and accentuate narratives in traditional film and TV formats. Utilising fluid structures to meet the tonal shifts in video games. To finding the right sound that portrays the message and identity of a commercial brand.

Secondarily writing for live performance and recital settings. These scores range from familiar concert norms to experimentation with generative techniques and performer interpretation.

Outside of the world of music, Eranan enjoys gaming, reading fiction as well as cooking and baking.
